District Pour House: Reviews & Ratings
Just happened to walk by this place and decided to give it a try. The meatloaf was extremely good but a bit firm. The potatoes and gravy more than made up for the firmness of the loaf. The Mac and cheese was really good and no downsides on this item. The waitress was good but nothing memorable. It is certainly worth a try if you are in the area.
This is the first time of many I’m sure of coming to this restaurant. I came for brunch with a pretty big group. With individual tickets for about 20ish people they did extremely good. I got the lox one of my favourite type of food it didn’t disappoint. Though there were other brunch items that caught my eye I’m really looking forward to looking into what the first Friday crab &shrimp boil is like.
Loved happy hour here! $5 appetizers were great. We had the fried goat cheese, french fries, and hummus (which came with spectacular pita). The housemade infusions were also $5 and were wonderful! I had a black cherry vanilla whiskey on the rocks (see photo) and a blackberry-infused Most Wanted gin and tonic. Both were wonderful! Our server was very friendly, as was the other staff. Super fun vibe to boot. We'll be back!
The atmosphere was amazing. Our waiter was polite and attentive. I had the chicken and waffles plus a side of bacon and potatoes. The waffle was light and fluffy. I loves it. The chicken was nicely seasoned but a little overcooked as well as the potatoes. The bacon was good but for my taste, it could have been cooked a little longer. I also had 2 raspberry hibiscus mimosas they were delicious. My best friend had a pineapple on but it was gross. You couldn't taste the pineapple at all. Overall I would go back just to try other things on the menu.
This restaurant had been on my list for some time. I visited for the first time with a former colleague, her husband, and their daughter. When we entered there was only one other diner. We had our choice of seating. Plenty of . Therefore, plenty of natural lighting. There were booths and tables. I ordered the Voodoo Shrimp from the After 5 selection. The was plump and juicy but I disliked the voodoo. There was too much liquid, and too many vegetables. The consistency was not to my liking. Thankfully, I ordered the Grilled Salmon to go because I was still famished. The grilled salmon was good. My colleague had the District Club from the On Bread section. She seemed to enjoy her meal. Her husband had the Fish N Chips. The restaurant was clean and spacious. The service was fair.
Great service and an awesome menu. We did brunch and had Poutine, chicken and waffles, eggs Benedict and French toast. Every one loved it. Fantastic service. Only downside can be parking but we lucked out. Definitely a good brunch spot on Waldo!
Made our reservation using the yelp app. Greeted by a very friendly hostess immediately who was already expecting our party of 5. We had arrived during the last hour of happy hour and absolutely took advantage of the great drink specials. I bet we tried 90% of their infused liquors! From brown sugar pecan bourbon to blueberry vodka w/ lemonade, mango rum with soda water & a bacon vodka w/ a frozen bloody Mary Mary ice cube! Our server, Ileana(Lilly), offered amazing suggestions for each & even got every order correct as the 5 of us yelled out different combinations, sometimes two at a time, as Happy Hour wound down, lol! Feeling no pain after cocktails, we asked Lilly for suggestions from the menu. She explained that everything on the menu is made in house & fresh, NEVER frozen! Lilly then went above & beyond going thru each section giving 2 of her faves & why she liked them. We tried 4 appetizers including a flatbread pizza w/ house made chorizo, fried cheese goat cheese balls w/ chimichurri sauce, risotto balls stuffed w/ havarti cheese & truffle fries w/ parmesan cheese. Each one left our mouths watering & wanting more! Our entrees consisted of the burger feature topped w/ crab meat, fresh greens, tomatoes plus a lime aioli. The fresh ground burger was cooked perfectly & even on a plain bun would have been one of the BEST I've had in kc! Their 5 cheese mac'n'cheese w/ bacon was a perfect, creamy adult version of the kids classic! And the pan seared duck breast w/ wild mushroom risotto & blackberry port reduction was cooked perfectly & absolutely craveable! The dining area was casual & simple. The bathrooms were clean! The chef came out to check on us and we raved about the amazing food as well as the next level service! We think we have found a new favorite restaurant in KC & cannot wait to go back! FIVE STARS! Go there and ask for Lilly!
Delicious Home Fries. Basic Biscuits & Gravy. Tasty Mac & Cheese (Top 10 of KC). Good Sandwiches. Service was poor on a slow day. Overall Worth a Visit!
